The museum is housed in a 1913 restored Elementary School, in the heart of downtown Delray Beach, and is located at Old School Square, the community's cultural center.

The Delray Beach Historical Society campus located at the corner of NE First Street and North Swinton Avenue includes three restored houses. Cason Cottage is a museum reflecting South Florida family lifestyle from 1924 to 1935. The 1926 Florida Bungalow houses the historical society's administrative offices and exhibit space. The 1908 Hunt House houses the Ethel Sterling Williams History Learning Center & Archives, exhibit space, curator's office, conference room, and separate archival storage.

Schoolhouse Children’s Museum, a restored 1913 school building, features “hands-on” exhibits, facts and activities about pioneer days in Palm Beach County.

Art

The University Galleries at Florida Atlantic University present a variety of contemporary art exhibitions. Related programming includes visiting artists, artist and scholar lectures and a program that trains FAU students to provide arts education services to children in school and after school settings.

The 2025 AASLH Annual Conference, in partnership with Ohio Local History Alliance, will take place as the history field makes the final preparations to kickoff off the 250th commemoration of the founding of the United States.

The 2025 conference theme, inspired by AASLH’s Making History at 250: The Field Guide for Semiquincentennial, is an opportunity to broadly explore one of the guide’s themes, The American Experiment. For many in the American colonies in 1776, independence from Britain represented a “leap into the dark” into an unknown future
